Services
Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) offers clients a cradle-to-grave package of brownfields services targeted at the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) brownfield grant program. We work with clients
to develop successful proposals and then assist them in managing those grants to maximize their value.
- Grant Writing:
CTC's experienced grant writers are able to quickly assemble winning proposals for EPA grants. Our
intimate knowledge of reviewer priorities enables us to rapidly customize grant applications
to hit EPA "hot buttons". Our experience ensures applications are compliant with EPA requirements without the hassle of digging through
complex federal guidelines. Our approach has achieved a 66% award rate annually over the past three years, handily out performing industry averages of under
40%.
- Grant Management:
Once awarded, CTC's long experience with the EPA's brownfield program allows customers to maximize the
value of their grant funding. Our technical experts quickly draft work plans and public involvement plans that are compliant with EPA
requirements. We support the development of quarterly and final reports, funding allocation, and troubleshoot issues with federal
and state environmental regulators that can often prevent projects from moving forward in a timely manner. Through CTC's online client
site, clients have access to important project documentation 24/7.
- Brownfield Inventories:
Many communities need to catalogue and profile their existing brownfield sites as part of their
EPA grant program. CTC works with
community stakeholders to identify potential brownfield sites. We then utilize a variety of public and subscription databases to acquire information
on property owners, site histories and other information.
- Environmental Assessments:
CTC conducts both Phase I and Phase II environmental
site assessments. We ensure that the required planning documents are developed and filed, the work is performed correctly, and issues
are addressed promptly in compliance with all state and EPA's All Appropriate Inquiry Rules.
- Site Cleanup:
CTC coordinates the activities of local contractors to cleanup brownfield sites. We ensure that the work is
properly performed and that all state and federal environmental regulations are followed correctly.
- Redevelopment Planning:
Creating a common vision for the reuse of a former brownfields property can be challenging. Various stakeholder
groups can have divergent priorities. CTC works with community groups, nonprofit-sector organizations, government officials,
property owners and developers to reach a common goal. We then plan the environmental cleanup activities to meet the end-use needs utilizing
the most cost-effective and efficient industry best practices.
- Community Outreach:
Keeping all parties informed of what is going on with your grant and soliciting public participation are critical components of the EPA brownfield
program. CTC coordinates public meetings, authors press releases, creates brochures and designs web sites to keep all stakeholders informed.
We operate content-management driven web sites so that the online information can be easily updated throughout the life of the grant to
keep stakeholders up-to-date with the latest project information.
- Health Monitoring:
CTC produced one of the EPA's first Health Monitoring Reports. Our approach is to link contaminants found on-site to historical health records of the populations
surrounding targeted brownfields properties. We explore the various potential health impacts of these contaminants and the exposure
pathways that could put communities at risk. We also document existing and planned measures for minimizing health risks to neighboring
communities.
