Reports Submitted to EPA and NCDENR A Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) and Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) have been submitted to the EPA and NCDENR for the Former Cape Fear Meat Packing Plant. Friday, January 4, 2008 Summary: A Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) will take place on the Former Cape Fear Meat Packing Plant property located along the Cape Fear River in Navassa, NC. In order to complete the Phase II ESA under the provisions of the Brownfield Grant, a Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) and a Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) have to be submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources for approval. The SAP outlines the process by which the site will be investigated for environmental contaminants associated with past uses of the property. The QAPP is a document that outlines the quality control measures used during the assessment.
