Draft Brownfield Application Submitted to NCDENR

The Town of Navassa has submitted a Draft Brownfield Agreement to NCDENR for the Former Cape Fear Meat Packing Plant property.

Summary: The Town of Navassa has applied to the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (NCDENR) to have the Former Cape Fear Meat Packing Plant be included in the State's Brownfield Program. By entering into the program, the Town is granted contamination liability protections of past uses of the property. This is a key step in paving the way for redevelopment of the property.
