The Town of Ware Shoals release Draft Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives

Summary: On behalf of the Town, Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) has prepared and issued the Draft Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) for public review and comment. CTC and/or the Town will accept comments until April 10, 2008.

The Town and the community are committed to the long-term enhancement of the economic health and vitality of Ware Shoals. In 2007, the Town of Ware Shoals was awarded an EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant to address the fly ash contamination at the former Riegel Textile Mill Fly Ash Landfill. The purpose of the ABCA is to evaluate various cleanup/management alternatives for the contaminated materials at the site. Copies of the Draft ABCA and select assessment reports are available at the Town Hall and the Ware Shoals Community Library. The public is encouraged to review the documents and make comments.
