Ware Shoals Students to Learn about Brownfields

Summary: An integral part of the EPA brownfields process is community involvement.

Mayor Rush asked Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) to prepare and give a presentation to middle and high school science classes as part of the community involvement effort on this project. CTC personnel Mr. Joe Morici, Ms. Kristen Long and Mr. Brian Kvam, P.G., will give a presentation about the U.S. EPA Brownfields program, the environmental assessment process and site specific plans for the former Riegel Textile Mill Fly Ash Landfill. In addition to speaking about the project details, the CTC team will also discuss their personal career paths and the education requirements to become an environmental professional.
