In 2011, Fredericksburg received funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to address brownfield properties throughout the community, many of which are related to its industrial past. Grant funds will pay for environmental assessment activities that characterize the nature and extent of contamination.
Knowing what contamination, if any, is present at brownfield properties reduces the risk for potential developers, ultimately leading to site reuse. Learn more about our brownfield program here or download a copy of our project flyer and list of Frequently Asked Questions here.
If you have a property you think might be a good candidate for participation in this program, or know someone who does, please complete the Brownfields Notice of Interest Form and submit it to one of the members of the Project Team.
