First Site Assessments Completed in Brooksville
Tuesday, August 12, 2014
Three Phase I Environmental Site Assessments have been completed as part of the City of Brooksville's EPA funded Brownfields program. The sites (located along South Main Street) were previously approved as priority sites for assessment by both the community-led Brownfields Task Force and Brooksville's City Council.
Of the three properties assessed, two were noted to have Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs), or areas of concern requiring further investigation in the form of physical soil and/or groundwater testing. The City will decide if these properties will be further examined once additional Phase I ESAs have been completed and all sites looked at from a comprehensive perspective. There are currently three additional single-parcel Phase I ESAs underway and two 'corridor' Phase I ESAs as part of the brownfields program.
Completed Phase I ESA documents may be found on the Properties Page of the project website, where direct links from each property assessed may be found. project website Read more...
